Affiliate marketing appears to be the easiest of all the models being that you do not need to do the followings;
1.Have a product of your own,
2.Do not need to concern yourself with how to deliver the product to the buyers
3.Sometimes tools that will help you in the course of marketing like autoresponder email series
All you have to do is to concern yourself with driving traffic to the merchant's website and if the traffic converts to sales, you get your commission
However, to be able to do affiliate marketing of TODAY effectively, you need the followings.
A Domain name
A website
An autoresponder
Link cloaker, so that your links are not tampered with (optional).
Okay, so you are wondering why you need a domain name and a website?
Yes, if you are going to hold your head above the waters in today's affiliate and any online marketing, you need a website and of course a domain name for the following reasons;
1. The cost of driving traffic to any offer these days is so high due to the high competition amongst internet marketers, therefore when you succed in driving traffic to any offer, it must not be a one time thing only because the commission for that singular sale may not be worth the amount of time or money you spent in getting the buyer to the offer. But what if the prospect did not even convert to sale? then the time and money yielded nothing.
What am saying in actual fact is that driving traffic straight or directly to your affiliate link is like sending 1000lb of gold to your merchant site and getting only 1lb of gold as commission.
Why the ratio? well every customer you drive to your merchant site without finding a way to get his contact on your own site either free or paid is a waste to you and a gain to the merchant. He can always market to them as many times as possible but yo cannot because you dont have their contact.
2. You need an autoresponder loaded with email series that can help you in list building. It can work with both paid or free website. Not only that, you can use autoresponder without a website as long as you can send emails. I will show you all about this in subsequent posts.
There are many types of autoresponders, free
, free trial for a month, paid auto responder, however, the problem with using completely free autoresponder is that:
They include adverts that might take your prospects away from your sites to your competitors, but if you are just starting out with low or no budget, then its okay.
Another problem is that when your list is beginning to grow, you want to bail out to a paid autoresponder. This is a little bit complicated.
A major advantage of having a website is to be able to sell it at a later date when it has made some money.
So if you are willing to start, these trio, domain name website auto responder must be ready.
Pls go through this carefully and ask me any question if you are not clear about anything because as I progress in this teaching series, we will be going deeper, so its better youask your questions now as it will also help me to treat int in the next post.
Cheers!
Hi there,
In case you are wondering why it took me over a month
to get back, I went under to get you some low hanging fruits in online
marketing without maxing your credit cards, breaking the bank or
exceeding your set budget.
Having said that, you do know that
despite all the shiny "make money in 2 seconds " that keeps popping up
left right and center online, some models remain unchanged in the course
of internet marketing, these ones might give room for tweaks if done in
the proper way, but the basic underlying principles does not change.
These models are;
1.
Affiliate marketing, where you dont have any product, but you drive
both paid and free traffics to a merchant with products and just hope
that a percentage of the traffic will convert into buyers, thereby
availing you of commissions from the merchant.
2. Content site
marketing, popularly known as adsense marketing which so many people
have bastardized today by slapping together some shoddy contents and
just hoping that the almighty google will direct visitors so they can
monetize their sites.
3. Website flipping, this is when
you build a website and monetize it either through affiliate marketing
or adsense, Kontera and or through other legal means by which you monetize your site and as soon as it generates some money you list it
for sale in one or more of the web flipping sites around.
4. Info
Products marketing is when you create a digital product on a niche where
you have a lot of starving crowd for such information and you sell
either by yourself or through affiliate marketers who helps you to drive
traffic to your site for commissions on whatever sales are made from
such traffic.
5. Providing services for money. This is when you
write articles for money, make guest post on other people's blog for
money, design websites for money, consults for money, data entry,
virtual assistants for money.
6. CPA marketing
is what can be termed as making people to sign up, or enter zip codes,
or email addresses or fill out longer forms for a company that pays you
based on the number of people that carried out any of the above
mentioned actions. Go here to know about CPA marketing.
7.
Work at home jobs like, filling surveys, Mystery shopping, Paid to surf
e.t .c are also part of this category and I can almost lump this
category into service providing.
The above list encompasses all
you can ever want to be in Internet marketing, regardless of the shiny
software that promises riches overnight.
Let me pause at this
point to tell you that there has never been anyone who made it the same
day they started online. Do not mind all the Gurus who promised riches
in two months. All these promises makes you to think a program is not
working after three months and you keep going back to them for the next
shiny object. Give it at least six 6 months of persistent working before
you start seeing results and when you do, you get the motivation to
know what works and what doesnt and you ramp up on what works.
Now
in this list, each of the categories have various components that makes
the business model work for anybody be it a newbie or a Guru, however,
some components like list building, email marketing, traffic generation
are the same throughout all the business models.
We shall be
examining the components of each of this categories one after the other
on this blog after which we will treat the common components to all the
business models/categories.
Watch out for the coming article where
you get to meet each of the business models face-to-face. This will be
done in a way that the average Joe or the newbie can pick up
immediately.
To your ability to put all what i teach you on this blog to use!!!
Cheers!
